Teaching course - การเรียนการสอนวิชา SCBT207 Insect Biotechnology

Insects are the most diverse group of eukaryotic organisms and successfully live in the most environment on earth. Combination of knowledge and skills on insects and biotechnology fields can generate a new subject called Insect Biotechnology that whole insect, insect organs, insect cells and molecules or insect symbionts will be used for medicine, agriculture, environment and industry, and food and feed. This application will increase benefits on those fields in terms of cost reduction, more value added and/or creating new revenue streams.

แมลงเป็นสิ่งมีชีวิตที่มีความหลากหลายสูง และอยู่รอบ ๆ ตัวเรา การนำความรู้และทักษะด้านแมลงมาประยุกต์ใช้กับความรู้ทางด้านเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพก่อให้เกิดความรู้ในสาขาใหม่ คือ เทคโนโลยีชีวภาพของแมลง ซึ่งความรู้ในศาสตร์นี้จะเป็นการใช้ประโยชน์ของแมลง อวัยวะของแมลง เซลล์หรือโมเลกุลของแมลง รวมถึงจุลชีพที่อยู่กับแมลงเพื่อประโยชน์ทางการแพทย์ การเกษตร สิ่งแวดล้อมและอุตสาหกรรม รวมทั้งด้านอาหารมนุษย์และสัตว์ ทั้งนี้การประยุกต์ใช้จะช่วยเพิ่มประโยชน์ในแง่ของการลดลงของต้นทุน มูลค่าเพิ่มขึ้น และ/หรือการสร้างแหล่งรายได้ใหม่ ๆ
